uPVC or aluminium window frames?

Choose uPVC if you want good insulation at the lowest price: a uPVC window frame costs from €650 per window frame incl. installation and never needs painting. Choose aluminium if you want slim profiles, lots of glass or a sleek, modern façade; it costs more than uPVC.

For insulation, the glass matters more than the frame material. We fit both with HR++ or triple glazing, installed by our own team.

    When to choose uPVC

    • You are replacing every window frame in a terraced or semi-detached house and want the best insulation for your budget.
    • You live in an older home and want to keep its character: woodgrain uPVC looks like wood but never needs painting.
    • You want to work out an estimate yourself before anyone visits.

    When to choose aluminium

    • You want lots of glass and slim profiles, for example in an extension with a wide sliding door.
    • You want a sleek, modern façade in a dark colour such as anthracite or black.
    • You are after a steel, industrial look: you get it in aluminium with the MB-Ferroline profile.

    Glass and subsidy

Whether you choose uPVC or aluminium, the ISDE subsidy depends on the glass. For triple glazing in new window frames it is up to €111/m², for HR++ glass €25/m², when purchased before 31 December 2026, under current plans. We supply the documents for your application.
